USHCC Names Toyota 2015 "Corporation of the Year"


WASHINGTON, Sept. 21, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) is proud to announce Toyota Motor North America as the 2015 "Corporation of the Year." Toyota will receive this award at the organization's National Convention on September 22 in Houston, Texas. Each year, the USHCC presents this award to a corporation that has championed Hispanic enterprise, demonstrating that diversity and inclusion initiatives are both principled and profitable.

Toyota is a founding member of the Billion Dollar Roundtable, which recognizes and celebrates corporations that achieved spending of at least $1 billion with minority and woman-owned suppliers. It also ranks at the highest level of the USHCC's Million Dollar Club, which honors corporations that have demonstrated a commitment to supplier diversity by contracting over $1 billion with Hispanic owned companies.

Toyota is the eleventh-largest company in the world by as measured by revenue. Its fourteen manufacturing facilities in North America produce more than 71 percent of the vehicles Toyota sells in the country. Toyota has created more than 365,000 jobs across the nation, contributing $21.2 billion in direct investment to the United States.
