Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water Sees a 5,000 Percent Growth in Just Three Years

Best Alkaline Water Brand Proves Healthy, Sustainable, and Ethical Practices Pay Off

Los Angeles, CA, Oct. 27, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water announces a 5,000 percent growth since its launch in 2012. In the past year alone, the premium bottled water brand, which was founded on a triple bottom line platform focused on health, sustainability, and charitable initiatives, has added its product to nearly 2,000 stores in 30 U.S. states. To celebrate, the company is launching a new manufacturing facility in Hawaii to meet growing international demand.

"I am incredibly proud of the growth we've accomplished in just a few years," said Ryan Emmons, founder of Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water. "We've gone from selling a couple thousand cases of Waiakea a year to more than 120,000 cases. And, it feels even better knowing that as a result of this increase, 500 million liters of clean water have been donated to underserved communities in Africa."

As part of its mission to encourage consumers to "drink ethically," Waiakea, in partnership with Pump Aid, donates 650 liters of clean water for every liter sold. However, its charitable contributions make up only one-third of the brand's success. Additionally, Waiakea touts a naturally alkaline, mineral-rich, and electrolyte-packed product that is sustainably sourced from one of the purest places on the planet and packaged entirely from recycled (rPET) bottles.

"I believe much of Waiakea's success can be attributed to doing things differently--for one thing, we are the first premium bottled water to be certified CarbonNeutral®," said Emmons. "In focusing on health, sustainability, and ethics, we've built a brand that makes individuals feel good on multiple levels."

On average, Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water has seen an annual growth rate of 170 percent and the company is now valued at over $10 million. The premium bottled water is currently available in premier chains around the country, including Whole Foods and Wawa, and is beginning to expand internationally as well.
