ACE(R) LAUNCHES NEW WALKING TOOLKITS

Free Toolkits Help Individuals and Organizations Implement Safe and Effective Walking Programs in Their Communities

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 29, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The American Council on Exercise (ACE) announced the launch of two walking toolkits as part of its commitment to support the U.S. Surgeon General's landmark national call to action to promote walking and walkable communities. The toolkits contain a variety of resources designed to help create a culture of health that values and supports walking as a fundamental physical activity.

Walk This Way! toolkit was created for individuals, community organizations, faith-based institutions, schools, employers, and other organizations to encourage and support individuals and community groups to walk more, implement organized walking programs and create walkable environments so they can live sustainable, healthy lifestyles.

Walk the Talk! toolkit was designed to help fitness and health professionals develop and lead safe and effective walking programs, and become advocates for more walkable communities nationwide.
"ACE strongly supports the U.S. Surgeon General's emphasis on walking and walkable communities as part of our commitment to fighting the dual epidemics of obesity and inactivity, and creating a culture that values and supports physically active lifestyles," said Scott Goudeseune, ACE President and CEO. "We are thrilled to do our part in engaging with individuals and organizations across communities nationwide and empowering them to get moving and establish healthy behaviors through walking."

The ACE Walking Toolkits can be found online at Walk This Way! and Walk The Talk!
