Thinfilm announces changes to executive management structure


Thin Film Electronics ASA ("Thinfilm") today announced changes to the Company's management team and key leadership responsibilities moving forward.

Erwan Le Roy has been named SVP, Strategic Marketing and GM, Sensor Products. Mr. Le Roy will be leading development of the roadmap and go-to-market strategies for Thinfilm's temperature sensor smart label and future iterations of the Company's sensor product line. He was most recently with Veeco (formerly Solid State Equipment Company) where he drove the marketing strategy that resulted in SSEC achieving 90% market share and the acquisition by Veeco. Prior to SSEC, Mr. Le Roy held senior business development and marketing positions at KLA Tencor and Credence Diagnostics Systems, a division of Schlumberger. He holds an MBA from Duke University and dual Masters of Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology, Taejon, Korea and the National Institute of Applied Sciences, Lyon, France.

Dr. Peter Fischer has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer for Thinfilm and will oversee manufacturing, supply chain, and technology transfer. Mr. Fischer joined Thinfilm in Q4 of 2013 as Chief Product Officer, initially serving as the company's technical lead in Product Marketing and Business Development. Prior to Thinfilm, Dr. Fischer was CTO at Plastic Logic, and also held senior roles with Qimonda and Infineon Technologies. In 2012, Dr. Fischer was named one of the top "Forty Innovators Building the Foundation of the Next-gen Electronics Industry" by EETimes. He serves on the board of the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) and holds a diploma and PhD in semiconductor physics. Dr. Fischer and his family recently relocated to Thinfilm's San Jose facility from Dresden, Germany.
