KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FL--(Marketwired - April 13, 2016) - BEAM ME UP, SCOTTY! Star Trek: The Original Series' George Takei (Sulu) and Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) will join legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin on July 23, 2016 to celebrate the anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon mission during a black tie affair right where it all started -- Kennedy Space Center, Florida!
Tickets and sponsorships are now available to the gala, which benefits Aldrin's educational nonprofit, ShareSpace Foundation, at www.ShareSpace.org/gala.
Hosted by these beloved space travelers as well as several other special guests and astronauts, the evening will include a reception, a special photo opportunity, a dinner underneath one of the only remaining Saturn V rockets in the world (the largest rocket ever made and the likes which took Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Aldrin to the moon in 1969) and an engaging program with Aldrin and Takei teleporting guests back to a time when space travel transitioned from fantasy to reality.
