MASC Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Eagle-Sponsored Young Authors' & Illustrators' Conference

OTTAWA, ON--(Marketwired - April 14, 2016) -  Eagle Professional Resources Inc. (Eagle), Canada's premier professional staffing company, is excited to once again partner with MASC to host the annual Young Authors' & Illustrators' Conference. The 2016 conference, which begins Tuesday and continues through Thursday, brings hundreds of students from the region together with some of Canada's most talented authors and illustrators. This year also marks significant milestones for both MASC and Eagle. This is the 25th anniversary for MASC's Young Authors' and Illustrators' Conference and it is also Eagle's 15^th consecutive year as the presenting sponsor.

Since 1991, the Young Authors' & Illustrators' Conference has inspired tens of thousands of artistic kids in the Ottawa region, and this week's showcase will be no exception. Authors Kate Jaimet, Karen Krossing, Jessica Scott Kerrin, Alan Silberberg and Joel Sutherland are scheduled to run writing workshops, while illustration seminars will be led by Marie-Louise Gay, Patricia Storms, and Kevin Sylvester. All of these professionals will have interactive classes with small groups of students who had the opportunity to pre-select their workshop leaders weeks ago.

Every year excited conference participants leave the event raving about the positive learning experience. "I love learning new things about drawing and writing that help me in my endeavours," said a grade 8 student last year after attending for the fourth time. "I would not learn these things otherwise." Other students end their day filled with inspiration, as demonstrated by this student who exclaimed "My day here has encouraged me to continue chasing my dream of writing and publishing a book!"
