Nathan’s Famous Surprises Mason Youth Organization

Youth Organization Surprised with $1,000 Kroger Gift Card and 100 Free Packages of Hot Dogs

LISLE, Ill., May 09, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Nathan’s Famous is continuing its mission to surprise unsuspecting fans and perform random acts of kindness across the nation throughout 2016 as the brand celebrates its 100th anniversary. This past Friday evening, the world-famous hot dog company brought a taste of Coney Island to Heritage Oak Park in Mason, Ohio, for members of the Mason Youth Organization.

Prior to the start of its games, the Nathan’s Famous Coney Island-themed mobile unit treated Mason Youth Organization children and parents to an evening filled with boardwalk games such as pop-a-shot and skee-ball, a miniature three-horse carousel, a Zoltar® Fortune Teller coupon machine and, most of all, Nathan’s Famous Premium Beef Hot Dogs.

Just before the first pitches of the night were thrown, Nathan’s Famous surprised the organization with a $1,000 Kroger gift card for assistance with concessions and 100 free packages of Nathan’s Famous hot dogs, in celebration of the company’s 100th anniversary.

“Whether you’re in a sandlot or the big leagues, there’s nothing more Americana than enjoying a Nathan’s Famous hot dog after playing a baseball game,” said Wayne Norbitz, executive board member and 26-year president of Nathan’s Famous. “When we learned that the Mason Youth Organization had baseball games scheduled just down the road from Kroger’s headquarters, we thought we’d give Ohio a taste of Coney Island and thank this group for keeping our youth active.”

Friday’s event was part of Nathan’s Famous’ national “Ultimate Fan Nation” campaign. Over the course of the next seven months, Nathan’s Famous will reflect on its history while engaging fans with new opportunities to enjoy the flavor they have come to love. Special offers will be available for fans via NathansFamous.com, and the company’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Nathan’s Famous will also feature members of its “Ultimate Fan Nation” on its social media channels.

Highlights of the Nathan’s Famous 100th anniversary celebration include a special promotion over the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend, the annual Nathan’s Famous International Fourth of July Hot Dog-Eating Contest in Coney Island, and a special-event based in New York City in early September.
