Company officials said Kognitio on Hadoop is specifically designed to enable hundreds of users to produce thousands of queries per second concurrently against huge amounts of data stored in memory. It works in combination with Hadoop’s resource management technology known as YARN (Yet Another Resource Negotiator), or MapReduce 2.0. Kognitio on Hadoop, therefore, offers the advantage of running on existing hardware as part of a company’s Hadoop implementation, thus reducing the need for additional capital expenditure.
