NxSE Forum 2016, Reunion island (Indian Ocean) places itself on the worldwide map of Information Technologies


On September 1 and 2, the first edition of NxSE (pronounce Nexi) International Forum of Digital Transformation of the States and Companies in Africa will be held in Reunion Island, a French department located in the Indian Ocean. It is the key meeting of the French and European companies with their counterparts, from the Indian Ocean, and from French and English speaking African countries. 

This annual major and unique meeting gathers all the digital agents from Africa in a sole and same place, Reunion Island, which applies as a candidate for the French Tech label. The aim is to develop Reunion Island's economy by highlighting local digital agents' savoir-faire, promoting regional and international cooperation, and creating South-South and North-South business opportunities.

Created on Digital Réunion's initiative, and supported by many institutional and private partners, NxSE 2016 will take place in Saint-Denis, Réunion Island, and will offer a programme full of business opportunities and conferences about strategic monitoring :

- 250 managers and deciders from the digital technology, innovation and international trade fields ;

- of which 100 attendees and participants coming from 10 African countries (Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, South-Africa, Mozambique, Tunisia) ;

- 15 thematic conferences hosted by reference contributors in the key fields of Digital Transformation : Telecoms, Mobile Money, E-Banking, Smart Cities, Big Data, IoT, E-Santé, E-Tourisme, Startups, E-Education ;

- Two masterclasses to understand the latest developments of two digital challenges ;

- An exhibition area for 30 companies and partners ;

- 48H of Hackathon, open to students willing to find an innovative digital solution.

In addition to the exhibition, conferences and round-table meetings, the « One to One » dimension of the event will allow the participants to benefit from targetted business appointments and select the best partners for their projects. The aim is to develop the digital industry in Reunion Island : improve regional, national and international cooperation and create business opportunities by highlighting the local ICT companies' savoir-faire.

Reunion island : A multi-advantaged area

French land, built by immigrants from China, India and Africa, Reunion Island is the most remote point of Europe in the Indian Ocean and it is also the most African land belonging to Europe. Reunion Island is a land of permanent innovation, with digital industry agents who are recognised for their French Touch : Creativity, Quality and Security, Savoir-faire in Disruptive Technologies.

Reunion Island is the updated base of digital France in the Indian Ocean. The island meets the standards of the European offer, by satisfying Africa's emerging needs :while bringing its intercultural understanding to the several ecosystems of this region. It is a bridge between two economic territories : Europe and Africa.

Digital transformation in Africa

On the occasion of the first NxSE forum, the African digital world meets in Reunion Island around two key thematics : digital transformation of the states and companies in Africa and the professions' revolution thanks to digital technology. Around a hundred of international participants are expected on these two days : managers, start-ups, schools, governments' representatives as well as digital industry leaders and « key-decision makers ».

From June 7 companies will be able to reserve a stand, and visitors to pre-register online (www.nxse.io) and discover the whole on-site possibilities.

ABOUT DIGITAL REUNION

The association of Digital professionals in Reunion Island was created in 1997 at the request of the sector's experts, and it gathers the main agents of the digital industry. Each of them coincide on a same goal : to take part in the creation of economic, legislative and competitive conditions that are essential to the development of the industry.
