HIFU Prostate Services to Attend American Urological Association Annual Meeting After Year of Substantial Growth

The world’s leader in providing high intensity focused ultrasound, or HIFU, technology for prostate cancer reflects on company growth since the 2016 Annual Meeting

CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 10, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HIFU Prostate Services, LLC (HPS), the leading provider of HIFU technology to physician’s practices in the United States, reflects on a year of steady growth and expansion since last year’s annual meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA).  HPS has experienced over 250 percent growth in the number of HIFU treatments completed over the previous year.   This growth is attributed to doubling the number of locations where HPS offers HIFU as well as increasing the number of trained physicians at existing partner facilities.

“We continue to see the number of HIFU treatments that our physician partners complete at all our facilities increase every quarter.  Combine that growth with a strong sales pipeline and we anticipate similar growth over the next year,” said John Linn, chief executive officer of HIFU Prostate Services. “We believe this growth is because of our extensive training and marketing programs that are unmatched by any US provider.”

Over the past year, HPS has made it a priority to strengthen its training program for the Sonablate® in order to make it the most robust and accessible in the country. Additionally, HPS has substantially expanded recruitment efforts to increase the number of HIFU physicians in the HPS network.  HPS currently works with six highly respected LUGPA (Larger Urology Group Practice Association) member groups.

“We currently have 12 physicians undergoing training and several who have recently completed the program.  Since last year at this same time, we have increased the number of treating physicians in our network by over 150 percent and grown our affiliated network of physicians to over 250,” said Jenny Robeson, chief sales officer of HIFU Prostate Services.

This year’s AUA Annual Meeting will take place in Boston, May 12- 16, 2017. The program includes several abstracts and presentations highlighting the clinical applications and outcomes of HIFU. HPS anticipates that one of the hottest topics to be discussed at the AUA meeting this year will be PSA screening for prostate cancer in direct response to new guidelines issued by the US Preventative Services Task Force last month.

“At the AUA meeting this year, we hope to engage new physicians who are looking for another treatment option to offer their patients that is non-invasive and to strengthen relationships with existing users of the technology, “said John McLean, chief operating officer. “Our mission is to provide a prostate cancer treatment option that ultimately offers a better quality of life for men facing prostate cancer.  We feel like we are already accomplishing this.”
