Planet Bordeaux, the Bordeaux & Bordeaux Supérieur Winemaker’s Association, created the partnership with the Los Angeles International Wine Competition nine years ago, and with almost 200 wines submitted each year, this has become the largest tasting of Bordeaux AOC and Bordeaux Supérieur AOC in the United States. The panel of judges for the blind tasting included Bernard Burtschy, wine writer at Le Figaro; Mark Newman, importer and consultant; Michael Madrigale, sommelier and Planet Bordeaux ambassador; Anna Myers and Jana Kravitz from Planet Bordeaux.

This year, Planet Bordeaux winemakers greeted the 80 international judges at the welcome reception on May 16, 2017 with an array of 20 wines in Crémant de Bordeaux, Bordeaux Blanc, Bordeaux Rosé, Bordeaux Rouge and Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge AOCs.

Consumers will have the opportunity to taste gold-medal winning wines during Cheers!, the Wine, Spirits, Beer & Food Festival to be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Fairplex Fairgrounds. Wine lovers will have more opportunities to taste award-winning Planet Bordeaux wines at wine bars and seminars during the Los Angeles County Fair, which will take place from September 1 – 24, 2017.
