Quality Professionals Can Learn New Skills and Network with Industry Leaders at Minitab Insights Conference, Sept. 11-12 in Chicago

The Minitab Insights Conference gathers some of the brightest minds in the quality field to help attendees master new skills, deep dive into process transformation and innovation, and connect with others who are passionate about process improvement. Experts from Crayola, Ford, Dr Pepper Snapple Group and many more will be on hand for two days of learning, networking and inspiration. Participants will acquire new strategies to improve quality, greater confidence to deliver results and the knowledge to get the most benefit from using Minitab software.

Some of the brightest minds in the quality field will help conference attendees master new skills and new approaches to process transformation and innovation.

  • Steven Bailey of Steven Bailey, LLC will present a two-stage strategy of experimentation that has been taught and used successfully in DuPont for over 50 years.  
  • Fred Eberle of Hi-Lex Controls, Inc. will talk about mechanical design life and capability from Weibull failure analysis.  
  • Greg Eisenbach of Berry Global will look at Design of Experiments tools, where they came from, how they work, and what they can tell you.  
  • Dr. Diane Evans of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology will present a hands-on lab in attribute agreement analysis, a type of analysis used to test the accuracy and precision of judgment-based measurements.  
  • Ken Feldman of Dr Pepper Snapple Group will explore a common issue encountered by all types of organizations: Should you continue to do incoming inspection if the vendor is doing it before shipping? 
  • Charles Harrison of Salford Systems will discuss real-world applications of statistical modeling and tree-based machine learning.  
  • Dr. David Kashmer of The Surgical Lab, LLC will share insights from his experiences using data to improve healthcare quality—including how to improve physician buy-in—and introduce a novel measure for quantifying the value of a healthcare process.    
  • Jerry Phillips of Phillips Statistical Consulting will provide examples on how to identify and estimate the reliability of data with multiple populations.  
  • Michael Rusak and Pommy Grewal of Air Products will describe how statistical approaches were used to help icrease the reliability of measurement instruments for several hydrogen-production facilities.  
  • Thomas Rust of Autoliv will demonstrate how to visualize an analysis and use seven basic quality tools to identify sources of variation and better understand processes.  
  • Joel Smith of Dr Pepper Snapple Group will describe how he was able to take a problematic model that used censored data and create a better model using uncensored data about a different response variable.  
  • Rip Stauffer of Management Science and Innovation, LLC, will discuss how control charting functions make it easy to detect differences and to divide time series data into segments for comparing production lines, shifts, operators or performance before and after a process change. 
  • Scott Sterbenz of Ford Motor Company will share examples of how to use the statistical method called binary logistic regression to improve the performance of a product or process.  
  • Rich Titus of Titus Consulting will discuss the application of various types of measurement systems analysis (MSA), including linearity and bias, type 1 gage, and attribute agreement analysis.

The conference also will feature a Minitab Lab where participants can ask questions and try software including Minitab 18 Statistical Software, the new version of the company’s flagship product, as well as Companion by Minitab®, a platform for executing, managing, and reporting on quality improvement projects.
