Ancestry Appoints Sriram Thiagarajan as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Seasoned Technology Executive from Twitter and Yahoo! Joins Ancestry to Oversee IT Strategy and Operations


SAN FRANCISCO and LEHI, Utah, Sept. 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ancestry, the global leader in family history and consumer genomics, today announced that Sriram Thiagarajan is joining to lead IT strategy and operations as the company’s Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Thiagarajan brings more than 20 years of leadership history in global technology organizations. His experience overseeing the development, management, and utilization of infrastructure architectures, applications, and tools will be critical as Ancestry continues its global expansion and grows its employee base.

In particular, Ancestry will benefit from Thiagarajan’s experience in standardizing IT systems and defining a clear and executable global information technology strategy. He will also bring a deep history in corporate information security, which is of particular importance to Ancestry given the high priority the company places on ensuring the privacy and safety of its customers’ data.

Sriram joins Ancestry from Infoblox, where he was SVP & CIO and responsible for information security, network operations, infrastructure management, business applications, collaboration tools, and employee support services. Prior roles include Head of Global IT at Twitter, where he was responsible for infrastructure, enterprise applications, and collaboration tools. He was also Vice President of IT at Yahoo!, where he managed corporate IT systems and the payments infrastructure platform. He also has held leadership roles at Verisign and Ernst & Young.
