Contract sharing scheme in Longueuil: $3,000 fine for Christian Fallu

MONTREAL, April 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Disciplinary Council of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec rendered its decision on guilt and sanction in the case of Christian Fallu, who will be fined $3,000.

Mr. Fallu was found guilty of failing to fulfill his professional obligations by tolerating a contract sharing scheme designed to circumvent the competitive bidding process of the City of Longueuil. In doing so, Mr. Fallu violated section 3.02.08 of the Code of Ethics of Engineers.

Mr. Fallu’s alleged offences were committed between 2002 and 2009, while he worked in the engineering service department of the City of Longueuil.

The full version of the Disciplinary Council’s decision is available on the OIQ’s Web site. In its decision, the Disciplinary Council also ordered Mr. Fallu to pay all costs in connection with the processing of the complaint.

As a reminder, the sanctions imposed by the Disciplinary Council are meant to protect the public by dissuading professionals from repeating offences and by setting an example for other members of the profession.
