Military Medical Couple Brings Fight Against Super Lice to Puyallup with Lice Clinics of America

Clinic provides guaranteed, one-and-done lice treatments using FDA-cleared medical device.

Puyallup, Washington, July 03, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lisa and Nathan Hagman served in Operation Enduring Freedom and were career medical workers in the military, but even they were no match for head lice when struck by an infestation while overseas. She was a Pharmacy Technician and EMT, and her husband, Nathan maintained medical equipment and worked in public health.

“We were so stressed out over the whole lice situation in my house that I probably would have flown back to the United States for a treatment if I knew it was an option,” Lisa said. “It took us five months of over the counter treatments and combing before we were all lice-free.”

The battle against head lice has gotten more difficult in recent years as head lice have become immune to the chemical pesticides in the most popular lice products. The most recent study found that so-called “Super Lice” comprise 98 percent of head lice in most states. The pesticides used in lice products have also been linked to developmental and behavioral problems in children.

The next time lice struck the Hagmans they were stateside, and they discovered Lice Clinics of America® and the AirAllé® medical device. “By this time, I had heard about Lice Clinics of America and went in that day for a treatment. What an easy process, I was hooked. I told my husband that I felt so passionate about the whole experience that I wanted to open my own clinic.”

Lice Clinics of America – Puyallap is the third clinic the Hagmans have opened in the greater Puget Sound area, joining clinics in Kitsap and Tacoma. The clinic provides screening, diagnosis and treatment options for people infested with head lice. The clinic is staffed by certified operators of the AirAllé medical device, an FDA-cleared Class I medical device that kills head lice and lice eggs using a patented, heated air system that dehydrates lice and eggs in about an hour.

In clinical trials, the AirAllé killed live lice and more than 99 percent of eggs. The device is equally effective against “Super Lice” because it doesn’t use pesticides and has now successfully treated more than 350,000 cases of head lice worldwide, with a success rate better than 99 percent.

The Puyallup clinic is located at 110 5th St SW, and is open seven days per week, by appointment only. Services are guaranteed to be effective.
