Meet the Group Merging Wall Street with the Grateful Dead

NEW YORK, NY, Oct. 25, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via NEWMEDIAWIRE -- A shared love for the Grateful Dead unites this tight knit, yet ever-welcoming community of both Wall Street and free-spirited professionals, providing the common ground for introduction.

Inspired by personal experiences while unintentionally networking at concerts, Deborah Solomon, Portfolio Manager and Founder of Wall Street Dead aHead Networking Events® (WSDA), has repurposed such an informal environment into an effective, valuable and enduring networking model. While WSDA has facilitated countless successful connections, it is the Grateful Dead itself and the group’s devotion as ‘heads’ that deserve credit. The legacy of the Grateful Dead and its established tradition of generosity can be found in the long-standing bonds the fans maintain.

The networking “Family,” as Solomon calls it, has grown dramatically over the past 6 years. “I’ve watched people become family, become friends, do business, have Christmas together, you name it!” Solomon said. She personally speaks to each potential new member, a touch that defines the framework for growing her Family. It is important to her that the group’s expansion is of substance in the context of business connections – only allowing new members if they show direct interest in the ultimate purpose: networking.

For the Annual Event, Solomon limits attendance by business category: “It wouldn’t help if I just stuck 200 lawyers in a room,” states Solomon. It is her attention to such seemingly minor, yet monumental detail that has led to WSDA’s undeniable success. Attendees of each Annual Event receive an impressive Sponsor Bag and “Set List” – the attendance roster listing all registered guests’ contact information and their answer to Solomon’s centerpiece question: What is your favorite Grateful Dead song?

About the Annual Event
Sold out for months with a substantial waiting list, the Eighth Annual Wall Street Dead aHead Networking Event harmonized professionalism with the free spirit of Grateful Dead fans as they networked, danced and listened to live music. The event was held on October 17th, 2018 at the Highline Ballroom in New York City. It featured a concert by Terrapin; open-bar with beer, wine, and specialty cocktails; appetizers and sponsor bags with attendance rosters. Registering for the Annual Event marries you to the Family, qualifying you for attendance to all future Family events and private social media groups.

This year’s Affiliate Charity, proudly selected by Ms. Solomon, was Pajama Program, pajamaprogram.org, a local New York City organization that recognizes the value of a warm night’s sleep and provides children in need with pajamas and books.
