Inmar Chairman & CEO Named 2018 Power Player of the Year by the Triad Business Journal

Award recognizes leaders who are “risking something – money, reputation, clout — to make a lasting impact”

Winston-Salem, NC, Nov. 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Inmar announced today that Chairman and CEO David Mounts has been named a 2018 Power Player by the Triad Business Journal.

The award recognizes leaders from the Triad region of North Carolina who are moving the area’s economy forward and championing initiatives that can dynamically change the region’s trajectory, according to the publication. Areas of focus included economic development, investment, entrepreneurship and the workforce.

In addition to considering Mounts’ leadership of Inmar’s continued growth and strong acquisition strategy, the award also recognizes him as a leading advocate for building Winston-Salem’s brand as a place where innovation and entrepreneurs can thrive. Specifically, the announcement noted his 2017 initiative that pulled together Winston-Salem’s six universities and colleges to fund a grant program for businesses created by students and alumni, and for supporting the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem needed to sustain startups. Recently Mounts was selected to help steer the governance of Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem, NC, as leaders seek to leverage it for economic development.

Mounts also was instrumental in bringing Venture Café to Winston-Salem. The city is one of only eight in the world to have landed a Venture Café, a nonprofit focused on support and resources for entrepreneurs. He also established Mounts Robotic Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a facility where students can build robots and learn about technology.

“It is a true honor to be recognized alongside the leaders named Power Players this year,” said Mounts. “We are fortunate to have so many creative minds working hard and deliberately to ensure a strong innovation ecosystem. Through a lot of people and organizations willing to collaborate, we have something very special here."

David Mounts joined Inmar as Chief Executive Officer in April 2010 and assumed the additional role of Chairman in February 2014. He has extensive operations and financial management experience in U.S., Europe and Asia. His expertise in investment, innovation, industry collaboration and corporate development has supported transformative product innovation and the growth of information-driven networks spanning more than 200 countries and territories.

Prior to joining Inmar, Mounts was Executive Vice President of Supply Chain for Domino’s Pizza, Inc. He also served as Domino’s Chief Financial Officer. Before Domino’s, Mounts held several positions during a nearly 23-year tenure at UPS, including Chief Financial Officer, UPS Supply Chain Solutions and Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions.
