HEIJMANS IS TAKING OVER HIJBEEK GROUP IN ZWIJNDRECHT

The Hijbeek Group is engaged in house building (70%) and non-residential building (30%). Approximately one-third of its turnover is realized from its own development activities, the remaining part is mainly realized by the building team. The 1999 turnover amounted to approximately euro 36 million. The company employs 160 employees. The returns of the Hijbeek Group are higher than the average of the Heijmans companies.

To Heijmans, this take-over means a further expansion of the activities of the Heijmans Division Building and Real Property Development in Rotterdam and the surrounding area (the southern part of the province of Zuid Holland). The Hijbeek Group will remain active within its Division Heijmans Building and Real Property Development, retaining its own identity.

The companies AAM Bouw and Onderhoudsbedrijf Hijbeko are no part of the acquisition and will continue their activities as independent companies.

The Works Councils of the companies involved have meanwhile been asked for advice, and the unions have been informed of the intended take-over. Heijmans N.V. will publish the annual results of 1999 on Thursday, 16 March 1999, around 12 noon.
