Net Insight signs significant order with Metrocom to deploy DTM technology in St. Petersburg


Metrocom is a member of the MirTelecom Association, which consists of five operators in Russia. Metrocom provides bandwidth services to a number of international service providers in St.Petersburg, including Sonera, Telia and AT&T among others. The initial configuration comprises of one central Nimbra One switch equipped with Ethernet and E1 modules and five Nimbra 220 access switches, which will be placed in the premises of a large bank in St.Petersburg. Metrocom has an option to purchase five Nimbra One switches and ten Nimbra 220 access switches within the terms of the agreement.

The network is scheduled for initial deployment during this summer, with commercial services to be launched towards the end of the year. In conjunction with this agreement, Net Insight and Metrocom agree to aim for certification of Net Insight's Nimbra products in Russia.
