Herman Maier and Atomic renewed the contract

The Austrian ski star Hermann Maier will race again for the Atomic brand for the next two years. Michael Schineis, Atomic's President & CEO, was happy to announce the continuation of the successful co-operation.

The next two years provides big challenges for Hermann Maier and the Atomic Racing Team. "We look forward to The Alpine World Championships in St. Anton am Arlberg and the Olympic Winter games in Salt Lake City. We are very optimistic, because in a sport where hundredth of a second are decisive only the best athletes with the best material are able to win", Schineis said.

The season 1999/2000 was victorious for both Maier and Atomic. Maier won three World Cup titles, downhill, Super-G and giant slalom, and the overall title reaching the magic limit of 2000 points as first racer ever. "The combination of best sporting performance and innovative technology brought the outstanding successes", said Schineis. "Total 11,116 World Cup points for the Atomic ski team, 21 victories, 18 second and 18 third places. In the competition between ski manufacturers Atomic ranked first already third times in a row. We can be satisfied with the results of the season", Schineis summarises.
