Electrowatt-Ekono (Thailand) Ltd., a Jaakko Pöyry Group company, has been awarded a EUR 7.8 million contract to design, supply and construct a polyester plant in Baankhai, Rayong province, Thailand. The project completion is in March, 2002. The client is SS Group Co., Ltd. of Thailand.
Electrowatt-Ekono (Thailand) is responsible for the design, local supplies, project management and construction services in the project. The project will be carried out in cooperation with Inventa-Fischer AG of Switzerland, who will provide the process know-how, mechanical process equipment, technical support services and commissioning.
Electrowatt-Ekono is the Energy business group of Jaakko Pöyry Group of Finland with activities in the areas of thermal power & CHP, waste management, oil & gas, industry plants, nuclear technology and hydropower. It had net sales of EUR 140 million in 1999 and over 1300 staff worldwide in some 20 countries. The Jaakko Pöyry Group had net sales of around EUR 400 million in 1999 and employs some 4500 people worldwide.
