Nokia launches NetAct(TM) Planner for planning of 2G and 3G networks


Nokia today launched a new fully integrated, PC based family of network planning tools for planning voice and data networks. Designed to facilitate fast rollout of 3G networks, Nokia NetAct(TM) Planner utilises open interfaces to interact effectively with operator's operations support systems.

This integrated planning system offers benefits such as reduced costs, increased productivity of the planning processes and the ability to secure and optimise future investments.

NetAct(TM) Planner comprises of six modules: WCDMA Planner, Radio Planner, Link Planner, Transmission Planner, Quality Planner and Rollout Planner. To support fast and efficient planning and optimisation of 2G/3G, GPRS and EDGE networks, this complete set of planning tools provides comprehensive rollout support.

Nokia NetAct(TM) Planner family shares a common database; this ensures data integrity, consistency between the various modules and provides easy maintenance of the database. Additionally NetAct(TM) Planner is a part of Nokia's overall product portfolio, thus providing efficient support for several Nokia network system features.
