Northrop Grumman Sector Names George W. Perkins Vice President of Its C3I&N Division


BALTIMORE, July 5, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Electronic Sensors and Systems Sector (ES3) has named George W. Perkins vice president and general manager-Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence and Naval (C3I&N) Systems Division. Mr. Perkins succeeds Robert P. Iorizzo, who recently was appointed president of ES3.

In this capacity, Mr. Perkins is responsible for the development and production of all Northrop Grumman antisubmarine warfare systems, international air defense, domestic and international air traffic control systems, torpedoes, marine propulsion systems, missile launching systems and communication systems.

C3I&N comprises 4,000 employees located at facilities in California, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, Puerto Rico, Norway and the United Kingdom.

Mr. Perkins joined the company in 1997 as director-C3I&N Business Operations. In 1999, he was appointed director-Air Traffic Management for C3I&N Systems, and since January 2000 has served as vice president-Space Systems. He will continue to serve as vice president-Space Systems until the completion of Northrop Grumman's acquisition of Aerojet General's Electronics and Information Systems Group.

Mr. Perkins joined Northrop Grumman following a distinguished 26-year career with the U.S. Navy and private industry. During his naval career, Mr. Perkins held a variety of positions, including director of Contracts at the Naval Supply Depot at Subic Bay and administrative contracting officer to the Supervisor of Shipbuilding at the Naval Shipyard in Bath, Maine. Mr. Perkins culminated his naval career with assignments at the Naval Sea Systems Command as director, Business Operations, and the Naval Space Technology Program as director, Consolidated Support Services.

Mr. Perkins received his bachelor's degree from the United States Naval Academy and his master's degree from the University of Michigan.
