WICHITA, Kan., July 20, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon, Inc. (Nasdaq:STAR) confirmed today at the reconvened Annual Shareholder's meeting that Guy Adams has been elected to the Company's Board of Directors.
In announcing the certified election results, Lone Star Chief Executive Officer Jamie B. Coulter, said, "Lone Star's Board of Directors welcomes Guy Adams to the Board and I personally look forward to working with him in the future. Lone Star has made strong progress towards turning the Company around and we look forward to continuing with this success."
Lone Star also announced at today's meeting that Ernst & Young, LLP has been confirmed as the Company's independent auditor for the fiscal year ending December 25, 2001. In addition, the Steiner stockholder proposal that Lone Star arranged for the prompt sale of the Company was defeated.
