Jaakko Pöyry Group awarded continuation of brewery project in Finland

JP-Engineering Oy, which is a part of the Jaakko Pöyry Group, has been commissioned by Oyj Hartwall Abp to provide complete engineering services for the transfer of Hartwall's brewery at Lahti and the Helsinki beverage factory and warehouse to a new plant in Lahti, Finland. The value of the engineering and project service contract is about EUR 5 million.

The contract, which is a continuation of the bottling and sorting plant engineering task completed earlier, comprises plant engineering and engineering services related to the construction work. The project will result in new beverage manufacturing and brewing capacity and various changes to transfer production from existing to new plants. The engineering task is particularly demanding because of the pioneering production technology and logistics model employed in the project. Working conditions and architectural considerations also feature prominently in the engineering work.

The work will be carried out by JP-Engineering Oy in co-operation with several other Jaakko Pöyry Group companies in Finland.
