Personnel changes at SGS


The Board of Directors of SGS Société Générale de Surveillance Holding SA announces today that in order to strengthen the product oriented structure of the Group, it has approved the following management appointments and organisational changes:
Mr. Rolf M. Jeker, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of SGS Global Trade Solutions, will additionally take the position of Global Sector Head of SGS International Certification Services.
Mr. Bernard Yip, Senior Executive Vice President, will take over the SGS Consumer Products Services and the Area Management of Asia Pacific.
Mr. Scott Morrison is promoted to Senior Executive Vice President and will head the Global Sector SGS Minerals and the Area of the Americas. Mr. Alejandro Gomez de la Torre is appointed Area Manager of Latin America reporting to Mr. Scott Morrison.
Mr. Paul Albrecht, Senior Executive Vice President, Area Head of Europe/Africa/ Middle-East will take the position of Global Sector Head of the SGS Industrial Services.
Mr. Paul A. Lilley, Senior Executive Vice President, today CFO and Global Sector Head of SGS Redwood Services, will additionally take the position of Global Sector Head of SGS Agricultural Services and will lead the SGS Global Food Initiative. He will continue to exercise his position as Chief Financial Officer until a successor is appointed early next year.
Mr. Ian Sword, Senior Executive Vice President, will retire at the end of the 1st quarter of 2002, reaching the age limit, after 29 years of service.
Mr. Christian Gille, Senior Executive Vice President Group Marketing, Sales and Branding, will leave the company to pursue other interests. The newly created marketing and sales function will be managed directly by the Business Sectors. Group Marketing and Branding will be integrated into Corporate Communications and Investor Relations run by Mr. Jean-Luc de Buman, Senior Vice President.
