Content Partners Include ABCNEWS.com, CBS SportsLine.com, NYTimes.com, SmartMoney, weather.com and Ziff Davis Media

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., April 4, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- United Online, Inc. (Nasdaq:UNTD), a leading provider of value-priced Internet access formed with the September 2001 merger of NetZero and Juno, today unveiled new start pages for NetZero and Juno Internet users. The new start pages, the first Web page NetZero and Juno users see when they go online, provide a guide to the Internet by offering users the ability to customize and personalize their content selections.

Through a clean, neatly organized interface, users can navigate through the news from around the world, check the latest action on Wall Street, access specific news and product information from over twenty categories, find sports scores or simply check the latest weather forecasts. Specific content partners include ABCNEWS.com, providing top news and entertainment headlines; sports headlines from CBS SportsLine.com; NYTimes.com, providing top national news and business headlines; SmartMoney's top finance headlines; global weather forecasts from weather.com; and Ziff Davis Media, providing top technology headlines.

"Nearly two-thirds of the U.S. population regularly access the Internet as their source of news," stated Brian Woods, executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "With that in mind, we strive to offer our users top-notch content and personalization tools to improve their online experience. This marks the first time Juno users will have a customizable start page and, from the feedback we have already received, it's something that users have been eagerly awaiting."

Specific personalization improvements include the ability to view and access stock quote information, track several weather locations, and search for specific goods and services.
