Net profit
Compared to the first quarter of 2001 net profit decreased by 32%. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2001, net profit in the first quarter of 2002 decreased by 22%. This decrease is mostly attributed to an unchanged high level of cost at the foreign branches; especially the Belgian and English branches are still in the start up phase. Moreover, DPA has invested more in marketing initiatives to realise more brand awareness in their home market as well as in Europe.

Market developments 2002
Disappointing economical developments continued, as expected, in the first quarter of 2002. DPA results for this period are also affected by these developments.
