Northrop Grumman Appoints Director for Australia


DALLAS, May 16, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Integrated Systems sector today announced the appointment of Kenneth Crowe as director, Australia, for the sector's Northrop Grumman International Inc. (NGII) business development organization.

Based in the sector's new office in Canberra, Crowe will direct the support of all sector business development campaigns in Australia, with particular emphasis on unmanned air vehicle (UAV) opportunities with the Australian Defence Force (ADF). He also will be a member of the Asian Business Development Integrated Product Team. Crowe reports to Harry Pearce, vice president, International, Integrated Systems sector.

Crowe comes to NGII following a distinguished military and engineering career spanning more than 20 years. Most recently, he held the rank of Wing Commander with the ADF and was project manager for two important programs: acquiring tactical UAVs for land surveillance and supporting the deployment of the Global Hawk UAV system to Australia.

Prior to his involvement with those projects, he represented the Capability Staff and C4I (Knowledge) branch of the ADF with the U.S. Space-Based Infrared System. Previously, he had been a systems engineer and satellite communications project manager involved with the Broadband Satellite Wide-Area Communications Network. As an engineer in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), Crowe also worked as a project manager in the Ground Telecommunications Logistics Management Squadron; the RAAF Air Traffic Control Systems in Melbourne; and as a manager at the Northern Region Communications Centre in Darwin, Australia.

Crowe, a citizen of Australia, holds a bachelor's degree in electronics engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a diploma in administrative studies from Canberra University. He also completed a master's degree in space operations from the United States Air Force Institute of Technology, Dayton, Ohio.
