Share trading

The average share trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 10 539 million during May (during the past 12-month period: 13 814). In April 2002 the average share trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 13 843 million. The average number of closed transactions per business day has been 31 126 during May (during the past 12-month period: 37 690).

The turnover rate during May was 108% (during the past 12-month period: 128%).

Derivative trading

Average derivative trading turnover (Swedish share and interest-rate related contracts) amounted during May to 191 432 contracts (during the past 12-month period 247 838) per business day. The average derivative trading turnover amounted during April to 231 740 per business day. The average number of contracts in share-related derivative products amounted during May to 172 663 contracts (during the past 12-month period 220 437) per business day, while the average number of contracts in interest-rate related derivative products amounted during May to 18 769 contracts (during the past 12-month period 27 401) per business day.

The total value of trade in stock options amounted for May to SEK 75.0 (during the past 12-month 114.3) million per day. The total value of trade in stocks options amounted for April to SEK 102.4 million per day.

Warrants trading

The average warrants trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 15 879 thousand during May (during the past 12-month period: 36 502). In April 2002 the average warrants trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 25 698 thousand.

Index developments

The OMX index decreased during May by 7,6% and closed on 659.9 (30 April 2002: 714.3). The Benchmark index closed on 227.4 as of 31 May (30 April 2002: 242.6), which is a decreased of 6.3%. The SX All-share index (the SAX index) closed on 197.3 (30 April 2002: 210.8), which corresponds to a decrease of 6.4% during the month.

The Energy Index increased most during the month and closed on 222.6 (30 April 2002: 216.3), which is an increase of 2.9%. The Telecommunication Services Index decreased most during the month and closed on 343.4 (30 April 2002: 432.6), which is a decrease of 20.6%.

Listed companies

During May, 2 companies have been listed and 1 company have been delisted on the O-list. The number of listed companies on Stockholmsborsen amounts to 299, of which 68 are listed on the A-list and 231 on the O-list. Total market value for the companies on the A- list amounts to SEK 1 879 billion, and on the O-list to SEK 457 billion. Total market value thereby amounted to SEK 2 336 billion as of 30 May 2002 (30 April 2002: 2 487).
