Amer Sports One and Too are coming to Helsinki


Amer Sports announces that after participating in the Volvo Ocean Race (VOR), the round the world yacht race, the Amer Sports One and Amer Sports Too race yachts will be sailing to Helsinki. The boats will arrive in Helsinki on Saturday, June 15 at around noon. Amer Sports has been a leading partner in the team which has been participating in the VOR with these two boats. The VOR will finish in Kiel, Germany on June 9.

"We have used the race as a tool to raise the profile of Amer Sports and our global sports equipment brands Wilson, Atomic and Suunto and to build the Group's team spirit", says Mr Eero Alperi, Director, Amer Sports. "Now, when the race is about to end, we are very satisfied with the results we have achieved. During the year, the Volvo Ocean Race has been one of our tools in our target to become the number one sports equipment company in the world."

Nautor, a world-class boatyard company, built the two racing VO60 class yachts which were specially designed for the VOR.

The Volvo Ocean Race (www.VolvoOceanRace.org) is one of the most respected and toughest offshore races in the world. The current race started on 23 September 2001 from Southampton, England. The stopover ports in racing order have been Cape Town, Sydney, Auckland, Rio de Janeiro, Miami, Baltimore/Annapolis, La Rochelle and Gothenburg.
