Semcon Expanding in Industrial IT sector


GOTEBORG, Sweden, July 1, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Semcon is intensifying its efforts in the Industrial IT sector. Over ten new staff have been employed during Q2 2002. They will be based in Trollhattan and work with IT solutions for material handling systems, support and planning. Semcon has employed staff from the bankrupt company Done Logistics AB (formerly MTH), and has acquired its software products and the ownership/user rights. The employees have wide-ranging experience in this sector and previously worked with companies such as Volvo Cars, Arla Food, IKEA, SKF and Scania.

This deal will give Semcon a complete range of Industrial IT services. Competence will be reinforced mainly within the integration of different control systems and the integration of business systems such as SAP R/3.

Semcon has noted demand for this type of competence and for related products in Semcon's other priority industries - Vehicle, Telecom and Medical & Life Science.
