STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 9, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sandvik Tamrock, within the Sandvik Mining and Construction business area, has received an order for tunneling equipment for a new rail link in the St. Gotthard Tunnel in the Swiss Alps. In total, the order is valued at approximately SEK 150 M.
The order comprises Axera-series drilling rigs and Toro loaders for Transco, a joint-venture company with Swiss, German and Italian owners. Approximately one third of the order value involves service and tool contracts. Delivery of the equipment is to begin during the autumn of 2002 and continue during 2003.
