`He Never Pulled The Trigger' -- New Book Reveals the Life and Times of a Model Policeman and Citizen

SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec. 19, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- "If my prisoner is abusive or fanatic, I'll hurt him, but he'll be alive. It's very difficult to shoot someone." Most of his prisoners respected and even liked him. He was compassionate, fair to all, and had a wonderful sense of humor. "He Never Pulled The Trigger" (now available through 1stBooks Library), by Florence Joseph Paul, is a touching memoir of her husband, Les Paul.

Despite all he had to contend with as a Vice Squad plainclothes officer, he never pulled the trigger. His captain put him in plainclothes immediately after his six months probation. The chief inspector once told me in secret, that Les was one of the best cops in the city of New York, says Paul.

When he finished his term, he went into business. He had been a male model, then worked in the Navy Yard. He left and went to the police academy.

Florence Paul has a personal mission: She will continue writing both fiction and nonfiction until the end. Her nature as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother is appreciated and admired. It is with great privilege that she pens this book, about her late husband; he was one of New York's most respected and efficient policemen. They were happily married for fifty-two years.

Internationally published (over sixty magazines) and with five books completed and published, Paul is no stranger to the literary world. As a community activist, she's received numerous accolades both personally and professionally.

In addition to this book, Ms. Paul has also published a second through 1stBooks Library, "I See The World." This book offers insight into the lives of people from different countries throughout the world that she and her husband had met personally, as opposed to a tourist guidebook.
