 WHAT:  The 26th Annual Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC)
        Floor Hockey Championship hosted by San Diego County
        Special Olympics

 WHEN:  Friday, January 17, 2003 - Sunday, January 19, 2003

        Friday    - Opening Ceremony 7:00 p.m.
                  - San Diego Convention Center
        Saturday  - Competition - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
                  - San Diego Convention Center
        Sunday    - Competition - 9:00 a.m. - 400 p.m.
                  - San Diego Convention Center

 WHERE: The SOSC Floor Hockey Championship will be held in San Diego
        California.  Tournament play will be held in the world-class
        San Diego Convention center.

 WHO:   Over 700 Special Olympics athletes from Southern California,
        Mexico and Arizona

 WHY:   The mission of Special Olympics Southern California is to
        provide sports training and competition in a variety of
        Olympic-type sports for children and adults with mental
        retardation or closely related developmental disabilities.  By
        instilling lifelong habits of physical fitness and influencing
        the athletes' willingness to accept new challenges, SOSC helps
        athletes Inspire Greatness in everything they do.  Athletes
        are encouraged to build on their successes and gain the
        courage to try new things in all areas of their lives.
