Nokia announces Nokia One Mobile Connectivity Service as a turn-key solution for operators

Nokia today unveiled Nokia One Mobile Connectivity Service, a turn-key, proven solution for operators. The solution complements existing operator services to provide a complete end-to-end service for mobile access to corporate e-mail, calendar and phone directories and other applications for corporate customers and small- and medium- sized enterprises (SMEs). Operators can now offer an enterprise service that is quickly deployable, without an up-front investment by the operator and with a broad business market appeal at an affordable price.

Corporate employees have flexible, easy and secure access to corporate information by voice, SMS, WAP and Web; from a GSM phone, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), personal computer (PC) or fixed-line phone.  Nokia One is an attractive proposition to the business market as it enables corporations to increase productivity by using their current investments in existing mobile phones and technology. It also increases productivity through enhanced communications among employees, as well as between employees and customers.

'With the Nokia One Mobile Connectivity Service operators have a valuable new or enhanced service offering with flexible dimensions:  any-protocol, any-device, practically anywhere in the world,' said Gerhard Romen, Head of Sales and Marketing, Nokia Ventures Organization.  'Because Nokia One is supported by existing network infrastructures, no new investments by operators are needed and ARPU is improved right away.'

Developed with the operator in mind, Nokia One can be scaled to suit the business customer.  Nokia One is fast and simple to install at the enterprise site, shortening the time to new revenue generation for the operator.  Several options to connect the enterprise customers are available. With the Nokia One Starter Service, no dedicated hardware is required, the service software is downloaded via the Internet. The registration and installation process can be completed in minutes.

Even the highest security requirements are met through secure connections using VPN (Virtual Private Network) or SSL-based encryption, and flexible installation options.  Nokia One simplifies the service interaction with self-registration and self-service web pages and company-based administration.
