March 11, 2003 (Irving, TX) - Nokia (NYSE: NOK), the expert in mobility, will launch the hip, new Nokia 3300 music phone that combines a digital music player (MP3 and AAC), FM stereo radio and mobile phone in the Americas market in time for the back-to-school season. The 3-in-1-music device is also optimized for messaging with a QWERTY keyboard and text, multimedia and instant messaging capabilities. The Nokia 3300 music phone will work on GSM/GPRS 850/1900 frequency bands.

Transferring music to the Nokia 3300 is easy with an in-box USB cable, 64MB multimedia memory card (MMC) and Nokia Audio Manager software. Users can copy their own music from CDs or MP3 files to take it on the go. The FM stereo radio allows users to further personalize their music experience by presetting 20 radio stations, and an embedded sound recorder allows music fans to save clips such as their favorite songs from the radio. The Nokia 3300 also supports advanced audio coding (AAC) that allows more music to be stored on the MMC than with standard MP3 compression. The music player provides up to 9 hours of digital music listening or up to 11 hours of FM stereo radio listening.

The design of the phone with the full QWERTY keypad was specifically designed for the Americas market to ensure ease-of-use and quick instant messaging, text messaging (SMS), and e-mail. The large, full color display in the center of the phone takes messaging and personalization to a heightened level with the ability to receive multimedia messages (MMS) including photos, images, and files which can also be used for wallpaper.

The Nokia 3300 also allows users to play games and connect to the mobile Internet. Full-color Java(TM) games come pre-loaded on the phone for instant enjoyment while it also comes equipped with e-mail connectivity and an XHTML browser. While playing games or messaging friends, the user can listen to the music player or the FM stereo radio through the stereo headset. If a call comes in, the music player automatically pauses so the user doesn't miss a beat of music. The battery includes up to two and a half hours of talk time and up to 12 days in stand-by mode.
