Nokia Mediamaster 230 T brings more enjoyment to terrestrial digital television viewers

March 11, 2003 - The Nokia Mediamaster 230 T, a terrestrial digital television receiver with image interoperability, combines access to more television channels with the ability to enjoy personal digital images on the television screen.  With the Nokia Mediamaster 230 T, consumers can use their televisions to view, share, and store photos captured with any Bluetooth version 1.1 (object push profile) enabled imaging phone, such as the Nokia 7650.

With the Nokia Mediamaster 230 T image viewer, consumers can enjoy the images taken by their camera phones in a larger format, view them with family and friends and store their favorites in their Nokia Navi(TM) Bars image folder. More than 30 images can be stored at one time. By also providing all the benefits of a digital terrestrial receiver, such as better picture and sound quality and access to more digital TV channels, it is a fusion that expands the entertainment value of digital TV.

'Imagine the family gathering around the television screen to share digital images from a recent vacation before switching over to watch the increasing range of free-to-air digital terrestrial television channels,' said Jukka Tiitu, General Manager of Sales and Marketing for Nokia Home Communications.  'The Nokia Mediamaster 230 T brings the digital television experience alive and makes all this possible in the most convenient way for the consumer.'

Based on Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) standards, Nokia's Mediamaster 230 T provides access to all digital free-to-air television and radio channels and gives consumers the choice to subscribe to various Pay TV operators via a common interface module.

Sleek and modern in appearance, Nokia's Mediamaster products fit easily into the home environment.  The Nokia Mediamaster 230 T offers an attractive compact design featuring a titanium grey flap, metallized buttons and a matching black olive cabinet.

The Nokia Mediamaster 230 T is easy to use, offering the onscreen Nokia Navi(TM) Bars user menu and an electronic program guide (EPG), allowing rapid navigation between TV and other digital content. Consumers have the ability to create up to eight personal favorite lists from a memory of hundreds of channels. The Nokia Mediamaster 230 T also features some of Nokia's most popular games, such as Snake, Tic-Tac-Toe and the new Card Deck game.

The Nokia Mediamaster 230 T supports Dolby (TM)Digital (Bitstream Out) and the wide-screen format.

The Nokia Mediamaster 230 T will be available in Europe in the 2Q 2003. .
