The project will start up immediately and is scheduled to be completed spring 2005. Aker Marine Contractors is recognised as a world leader for advanced marine operations. In the company's strategy to further expand it's activities, the Kristin contract is regarded as a key reference.
Transport and pre-installation of the anchor system will be performed during summer 2004, utilising the new build construction vessel, Boa DeepC. The vessel is owned by one of Aker Marine Contractors' minority shareholders, the Norwegian company Taubåtkompaniet. Aker Marine Contractors operational experience from mooring system installation has been one of the parameters when designing this vessel.
The 2005 operation includes tow and installation of the Kristin platform, utilising vessels from Maersk Supply Services. Aker Marine Contractors has since 1995 had an alliance agreement with Maersk Supply Services for tow and installation of floating production units. Aker Marine Contractors has carried out a number of demanding projects both in the North Sea area and in other regions.
