Nokia marks milestone in CDMA, introduces CDMA2000 1x handsets
This month, Nokia will produce its 25 millionth CDMA phone based on the company's own CDMA chipset design.  An impressive moment in the 12 year history of Nokia's dedicated CDMA research, this milestone also marks a perfect time to showcase the latest devices developed by Nokia for the CDMA standard.  The new handsets expand Nokia's range of phones and suit the personality of any consumer - from the style conscious to the tech-savvy, to the no-nonsense, practical individual who simply desires basic person-to-person communication.  Nokia is debuting five new CDMA2000 1x handsets at CTIA.
 
- The new Nokia 2200 series CDMA phones are designed to make the mobile voice experience as easy and enjoyable as possible while the smooth, rounded design proves that simplicity can be comfortably stylish. The Nokia 2270, Nokia 2280* and Nokia 2285 phones are based on a Nokia-designed CDMA2000 1X chipset, and integrate GPS functionality for carrier E911 compliance.
 
- The Nokia 3586i  - The newest member of Nokia's CDMA handset line-up is a tri-mode CDMA2000 1X phone loaded with an appealing blend of the newest features, exciting style and a price point designed for mass-market appeal. A full-color screen, Java(TM) technology and high-speed data support allow the Nokia 3586i phone to satisfy the most tech-savvy customers while polyphonic MIDI ring tone support, graphical caller ID icons and optional Xpress-on(TM) electroluminsecent active covers indulge the desire for expression and individuality.

Hot off the heels of the recent groundbreaking announcement of the Nokia N-Gage mobile game deck, Nokia introduced the Nokia 3300 music phone.  This first-of-it's-kind, 3-in-1 device is a digital music player (MP3/AAC and FM radio), messaging device and a mobile phone that allows users to listen to music anytime they want, text message a buddy and talk on the phone. The Nokia 3300 is a dual band GSM/GPRS 850/1900 mobile phone with a full QWERTY keyboard optimized for text input.  Prototypes of both the Nokia N-Gage and Nokia 3300 music phone are available at Nokia's booth # 3145, Hall D.
 
The new Nokia 3600 imaging phone
In the award-winning footsteps of its sister device, the Nokia 3650, the new dual-band Nokia 3600 imaging phone boasts the same functionality and leading- edge design specifically for GSM frequencies (850/1900 MHz) in the Americas. The Nokia 3600 phone includes an integrated VGA camera, a large 176x208 pixel color display with 4096 colors, and a unique circular keypad with a 5-way scroll key. The Nokia 3600 also incorporates a camcorder for capturing video clips, as well as a RealOne Player for downloading and playing or real-time streaming of video content.

- The FM Radio Headset is an innovative mobile enhancement that adds a touch of music to the mobile experience. High-quality stereo earpieces and a digital tuner combine for maximum sound clarity. Integrated volume control, radio station seek and a send/end button allow the user to conveniently access both radio and phone functions directly from the headset unit. The FM Radio Headset is expected to be available during the 2nd quarter of 2003, and will initially be compatible with the Nokia 6100 phone. 
 
-The Nokia Observation Camera creates a new way for individuals and businesses to remotely receive visual information. The Nokia Observation Camera can be set to automatically send images to an MMS-enabled handset or e-mail address at pre-determined intervals, when motion is detected, a change in temperature is noted or an SMS query is sent directly to the device. The dual-band (GSM/GPRS 850/1900) Nokia Observation Camera is expected to be available during the 3rd quarter of 2003.
 
- The Nokia Digital Pen allows users to create, store and share personal and colorful multimedia messages. With this easy-to-use mobile enhancement, users can draw a picture or write notes in their own handwriting on specially printed paper and transfer them to a compatible mobile phone using Bluetooth technology.**  The image can be displayed on the phone and can be sent as an MMS to a compatible mobile phone or an e-mail address.***
 
- The Nokia Image Viewer takes MMS usage beyond the mobile phone screen. Users can show and share images from their phones on a TV screen or video projector at home or in the office. Images are transferred wirelessly from a compatible mobile phone to the Nokia Image Viewer using Bluetooth technology.****
 
Mobilizing business
Studies estimate that nearly one-third of today's workforce is mobile.  Capitalizing on the opportunity to extend its expertise in mobility to the enterprise market, Nokia has launched a comprehensive new effort to enhance the mobile experience with powerful new tools to drive business productivity.
 
Devices such as the Nokia 6800 messaging phone and the Nokia 9290 Communicator demonstrate initial success in the enterprise market and showcase the potential for additional mobile data services.  Nokia is focused on continuing to provide cost-effective and efficient mobile enterprise solutions.  The company's recently announced relationships with IBM and Oracle, and its commitment to open standards and interoperability, will ensure businesses have the widest possible range of mobile choices.
 
Nokia drives IP Multimedia across all network standards
Nokia introduced products that allow GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA and CDMA2000 network operators to enable interactive services such as person-to-person mobile games between terminals.  Expected to be available during 2003, the new IP Multimedia Subsystem-capable network products employ the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).  These new IP Multimedia products will enable attractive new services for mobile consumers, including push-to-talk over cellular, multiplayer mobile games and powerful business applications.
