Nokia Riders clinch top spots at Nokia Snowboard FIS World Cup 2002/03 Finals

The Fifth Nokia Snowboard FIS World Cup Finals, held in Arosa, Switzerland from March 13 to 16, ended in a spectacular success for the Nokia Rider team. Nokia Riders took the top three spots in the Parallel Giant Slalom, and top spots in the Snowboard Cross, Big Air and the overall World Cup. Every year, Nokia sponsors a group of talented snowboarders from around the world. This year's Nokia Rider team included 10 people from across Europe and North America.

"This year's Nokia Riders have done an amazing job of maintaining a positive and enthusiastic spirit despite some challenges during the season. A couple of the Nokia Riders had physical injuries that made it difficult to perform at their peak levels, but they were able to focus and still succeed. We are proud to sponsor such a talented group of riders and to see them finish the season with such spectacular results," said Isto Pankakoski, Senior Vice President, Nokia Mobile Phones, Europe and Africa. "We look forward to sponsoring the 2003/04 Nokia Snowboard FIS World Cup season and another talented team of Nokia Riders."

Nokia Riders Jasey Jay Anderson (CAN), Mathieu Bozzetto (FRA) and Dejan Kosir (SLO) took the top three spots in the Parallel Giant Slalom once again. Jukka Erätuli (FIN) placed first in the Big Air competition, as well as taking first place in the overall Big Air World Cup. Jasey Jay Anderson placed second in the Snowboard Cross standings. In addition, Jasey Jay Anderson finished first in the Overall Nokia Snowboard FIS World Cup standings, with Mathieu Bozzetto and Dejan Kosir placing first and second respectively in the overall Parallel Giant Slalom World Cup standings.

Snowboard fans were able to follow the Nokia Riders during the season on the Nokia Snowboard website (www.nokia.com/snowboard). The Nokia Riders, using their Nokia 3650 phones with integrated cameras, uploaded pictures from various events to share their tour experiences with the snowboarding community.
