Vuelo Entre Fantasmas - An adventure story authored by Rafael Maya-Yescas

CUAUTITLAN IZCALLI, Mexico, March 19, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- There are many individuals who believe that work is life. The work-sleep cycle can easily become an unhealthy, destructive path. In Rafael Maya-Yescas' new book, Vuelo Entre Fantasmas: Desde un Lugar que Nadie Sabe donde Queda (now available through 1stBooks Library), he follows the life of Derek Eigenwerger, a scientist, researcher and workaholic.

Vuelo Entre Fantasmas, full of "autobiographic citations" and technical details, is targeted toward individuals who enjoy the science fiction and fantasy genres.

The story centers on Eigenwerger and his experiences. Eigenwerger wants to revolutionize the "transport industry" on his home planet. As he struggles, he realizes he still has several things left to learn.

Throughout his adventures, Eigenwerger realizes that there is much more to life than work. Life in a large city also provides problems in which he must face, such as human ambition and the selfishness of the human personality. He also finds that "self-convenience" and passions often overcome intellect. To his frustration, he discovers that the "objectives of education and the obtained results are very different."

Maya-Yescas currently lives in Mexico. He has a bachelor's and a master's degree in chemical engineering from the Metropolitan Autonomous University. He has also obtained a doctorate in basic sciences and engineering from a "joint academic venture" between University College London and the Metropolitan Autonomous University. Maya-Yescas is presently an active researcher at the Mexican Institute of Petroleum.
