A Quest for Knowledge - A Swordsman and a River Witch Search for a Mystical Book in New Novel

SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah, March 21, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- In a far away land a young warrior toils on his quest to bring knowledge to the people. A mystic book holds the power to free the poor souls left in the darkness by their leaders. A quest of magic and peril awaits between the pages of The Swordsman, the Witch, and the Demon (now available through 1stBooks Library) by Roger E. Witte.

Vulthur, a half-elven swordsman, has been sent on a quest to find and retrieve the powerful Oracle Book. In his adventures, he meets a young river witch named Deirdre who also seeks the book. The two quickly join forces. Their adventures take them into the dark keep of a vampire, through the clutches of two warring sorcerers who search for it to serve their own ends and into the borders of a town ruled by an insane feudal lord. Before they can grasp the Oracle book, they must face the monstrous demon, Arkchimael, who also hunts for it. The mists lift as Vulthur and Deirdre realize it is this demon responsible for his exile and the persecution of all river witches. As the two grow closer together romantically, will they be able to take the Oracle Book from the demon's clutches?

It is a fast-paced quest for knowledge and triumph. The Swordsman, the Witch, and the Demon is a literary fantasy of knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and triumph over defeat. Witte weaves a world of pure wonder.

Witte was born in Alabama then moved to Utah. There he received a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Utah. Witte loves writing and literature. The Swordsman, the Witch, and the Demon is his first book.
