Jaakko Pöyry Group Oyj reshapes its organisational structure by integrating the forest industry consulting and engineering businesses into one forest industry business group. The new structure becomes effective as of May 1, 2003. Following the integration the Jaakko Pöyry Group consists of three business groups: Forest Industry, Energy, and Infrastructure & Environment. Each business group offers a full range of consulting, investment planning and implementation as well as maintenance planning and operations improvement services to its clients in the entire life-cycle of their business. The target of the new structure is also to streamline overlapping operations and to improve the efficiency of business operations.
Jukka Nyrölä, Executive Vice President of the Jaakko Pöyry Group, has been appointed Business Group Director of the Forest Industry business group as of May 1, 2003. Rainer Häggblom continues as Chairman of the Board of Directors and David Walker as President and COO of Jaakko Pöyry Consulting Oy. John Lindahl, M.Sc. (Paper Technology), has as of May 1, 2003 been appointed President of Jaakko Pöyry Oy, which focuses on investment projects. Kari Kalliala, Jaakko Pöyry Oy's current President, has announced that he will resign as of July 1, 2003.
As of May 1, 2003 Jaakko Pöyry Group Oyj's Executive Committee will be composed of Erkki Pehu-Lehtonen, President and CEO; Teuvo Salminen, Deputy to President and CEO; Jukka Nyrölä, Executive Vice President and Forest Industry Business Group Director; Richard Pinnock, Energy Business Group Director; Risto Laukkanen, Infrastructure & Environment Business Group Director; Lars Rautamo, CFO; and Anne Viitala, Group General Counsel.
