Borland C++ Mobile Edition for Series 60, Nokia Edition provides developers with technology to rapidly create applications for the emerging mobile device market. The solution includes a version of Borland® C++ Builder® 6, engineered to help teams work together with greater efficiency, speed and precision. It also includes the Series 60 Software Development Kit (SDK) for Symbian OS(TM), Nokia Edition, and a C++ Mobile Edition plug-in. This plug-in functions as an interface between C++Builder 6 and the SDK, which includes a Series 60 emulator, full documentation sample source code and other essentials for the creation of applications for Series 60 based devices.
Borland C++ Mobile Edition accelerates time to market for organizations creating applications for the Series 60 Platform by enabling the reuse of existing Symbian application source code. This means that Symbian developers do not have to rewrite code to import their solutions to Borland C++ Mobile Edition. They are also able to create, test and debug applications within a Series 60 emulator. Eliminating the need for a mobile device in the development cycle allows development teams to create applications for these devices prior to their commercial availability.
