Borrowing requirement in line with forecast in April


The primary surplus was SEK 1.3 billion which is 0.8 billion lower than projected. Tax payments were SEK 2.6 billion less than projected. On the other hand, payments from The National Social Insurance Board to The National Pension Funds were smaller than expected.  At the same time, central government net lending was larger than predicted.
 
Interest payments on the central government debt in April were SEK 0.6 billion less than projected.
 
For the twelve-month period ending April 30, the borrowing requirement amounted to SEK 40,9 billion. The central government debt amounted to SEK 1,235 billion at the end of April 2003.
 
The outcome of central government borrowing requirement for April will be published on June 6, 2003, at 9.30 a.m.  A revised forecast for 2003 will be published on June 18, 2003, at 9.30 a.m.
