Total production from Yemen in April was somewhat lower than in March. This is due to brief production shutdowns of one of the Tasour wells in connection with the replacement of a pump in the well. The new production well, Tasour # 9, which came onstream in April, turned out to produce more water than expected, but still delivers some 1,800 barrels of oil per day.
The Sharyoof field continues to produce more than 20,000 barrels per day, and the total production from Yemen for the period January to April 2003 is about 70 per cent higher than in the corresponding period of 2002.
Production in the UK and Norway in April was roughly on the same level as in March.
