Nokia Security Developers Alliance Program Signs ForeScout Technologies and nCircle As New Members

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) today announced that it has added two new software companies to its growing roster of Nokia Security Developers Alliance program participants. ForeScout Technologies, Inc. and nCircle, Inc. will receive the "Nokia OK" validation, ensuring interoperability with Nokia's line of IP security appliances. Nokia established the Alliance program in 2002 to allow customers to confidently identify innovative third-party security solutions that work well and enhance their Nokia IP appliance deployments.

"Nokia is pleased to welcome ForeScout and nCircle to the Nokia Security Developers Alliance program," said Dave Edwards, senior director, Nokia Internet Communications.  "Network attacks continue to increase in sophistication and these two innovative applications provide an additional level of security, protecting customers' networks and reducing total cost of ownership. ForeScout and nCircle are the latest examples that prove how Nokia continues to offer customers increased freedom, flexibility and value by deploying fully interoperable, innovative security applications on Nokia's family of IP appliances."

"ForeScout is excited to join the Nokia Security Developers Alliance," said T. Kent Elliott, chief executive officer, ForeScout Technologies.  "Our ActiveScout solution will allow Nokia customers to focus on stopping attackers before they enter the network, automatically preventing their attacks, both known and unknown."

The Nokia Security Developers Alliance satisfies a wide range of customer use and implementation scenarios, reducing operational complexity by leveraging the inherent flexibility of Nokia's appliance approach.  Participating developers create interoperable solutions that work on- or off-appliance, depending on the application. All take advantage of Nokia's secure operating system, platform reliability and common management tools.

"nCircle helps Nokia customers proactively eliminate known vulnerabilities and exposures before incidents occur by enforcing global security policies, reducing network exposures and increasing the effectiveness of the information security program," said Karl Hutter, senior vice president of corporate development at nCircle. "As a member of the Nokia Security Developers Alliance, nCircle looks forward to bringing end-users a fully robust and interoperable security solution."

As participants in the Alliance program, ForeScout and nCircle have access to Nokia's Software Development Kit (SDK) for Nokia's secure Operating System (IPSO).  This will allow them to port their products to Nokia's security appliances, delivering a truly interoperable solution offering rapid deployment, ease of configuration, and the highest level of performance and availability.

The latest Alliance program members will deliver two unique and compelling applications. Based on its patented ActiveResponse technology, ForeScout's ActiveScout application automatically blocks attackers who have proven intent to attack, thereby stopping both known and unknown attacks and exploits. nCircle's appliance-based vulnerability management solution increases overall effectiveness of customer security programs by reducing network security exposures and enforcing compliance with security policies.

Other "Nokia OK" alliance members in the program include FishNet Security, Open (OpenService, Inc.), Permeo, SurfControl and Tripwire.
