Ferring, headquartered in Denmark with around 45 subsidiary companies located around the world, requires secure and reliable communications for rapidly expanding operations beyond its traditional European base. The Nokia IP network security appliances have been deployed at all subsidiaries and are managed centrally with Nokia Horizon Manager. Nokia Horizon Manager, Nokia's multi-appliance management tool, was a key decision factor for Ferring.
Ferring is now looking to increase remote access for its employees as well as extranet services for external partners, third party vendors and customers. A secure information exchange is paramount, given that the extranet solution will also interface with government authorities in Denmark and the United States for the exchange of pharmaceutical data and studies.
