When the Criminal Holds the Key to Your Door -- Crime Novel Tells of Sexual Predator Landlord Who Preys Off Tenants in His Apartment Building

MASTIC, N.Y., June 25, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Tiffany Polaski was unlucky, falling victim to the superintendent of her apartment complex. A sexual predator, Eugene Blade holds the power -- the keys to all the apartments, especially those of his single female tenants. In Lynzee McClean & John Babrow's new book, Hidden Deception (now available through 1stBooks), Blade seems to get away with his lustful acts, but is turned into prey himself.

Eugene has gone as far as turning off utilities, setting-up hidden surveillance and exposing himself without invitation to do so. Tiffany fell victim to his malice. When she presses charges in an attempt to make him pay, Eugene is wrongly acquitted of his scams.

For District Attorney Carol Bayer, the not-guilty verdict immediately pushes her to file an appeal. But when Tiffany is found dead, her apartment opens up to another potential victim. Foreign exchange student Aja Benoit is introduced to Eugene, who envisions the pleasure of putting her through the agony of his self-proclaimed charm.

In a twist of fate, Aja meets the law intern who worked on Tiffany's case. Darryl Barnes befriended Aja, and Bayer sees the opportunity to get Eugene once and for all. Using Aja as bait and enlisting Detective Ron Dixon, they devise a scheme to remove Eugene from the apartment complex and put him where he belongs -- in prison. Will he finally be punished or are there not limits to his tricks?

A story illustrating the hidden horror of tenants being molested by their landlords, it shines light on the fear victims have of being evicted from their homes if they report the crimes. Hidden Deception is a powerful, suspense novel about a disturbing, humiliating crime.
